Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
CubicTrip is a trip-planning app published by Inversiones HP4 SpA ("we", "us"), Santiago, Chile. This policy explains what we collect when you use CubicTrip, why, who else processes it, and the choices you have. The short version shown inside the app is a summary of this page.
1. What we collect
- Account: when you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an identifier, your name and e-mail address (Apple lets you hide it) and, with Google, your profile picture. We create a CubicTrip profile from it and store your language, time zone and notification preferences.
- Your trips: the trips, stops, dates, transport legs, experiences, notes, checklists, costs, votes, ticks and photos you or your travel companions add. Photos are stored in our cloud storage and are visible only to the members of that trip.
- Companions: the invitations you send and accept, and the trips you choose to watch through a shared link.
- Usage: one record per day on which you open the app (platform and date only), the AI requests you make (counted for your plan's allowance) and the screens where ads are shown.
- Device: a push-notification token if you enable notifications, your device model and OS version for crash reports.
- Purchases: subscription status and the store transaction identifiers. We never see your card or bank details; Apple and Google process the payment.
- Promo codes: which code you redeemed and when.
2. How we use it
To run the app: show your trips to you and your companions, compute routes and travel times, suggest places and events, send the notifications and e-mails you opted into, apply the plan you subscribed to, show advertisements on the free plan, measure how the app performs and fix crashes. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising profiles beyond what is described in section 3.
3. Services that process data for us
| Service | Purpose | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase (hosted in the United States, us-east-2) | Database, authentication, file storage, server functions | Everything in section 1 |
| Apple / Google sign-in | Authentication | Your login event |
| Google Maps Platform (Places, Routes, Weather, Static Maps) | Place search, routes, travel times, weather, map images | The place names, coordinates and dates you search or plan with; no account identity |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Optional AI curation of suggestions | The destination, dates and preferences of the request; no account identity |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | An anonymous app user id and store receipts |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Payments and subscriptions | Handled under their own terms |
| Google AdMob | Advertisements on the free plan | Device advertising identifier only if you consent (and, on iOS, allow tracking); otherwise non-personalised ads |
| Sentry (hosted in the European Union) | Crash and error reports | Device model, OS version, app version and the error; your user id |
| Resend | Transactional e-mail | Your e-mail address and the message content |
| Expo push service, Apple APNs, Google FCM | Push notifications | Your push token and the notification text |
Each of these providers is bound by a data-processing agreement or its own published terms and may store data outside your country.
4. Sharing between users
Everything inside a trip is visible to its members. If you share a trip link, anyone with the link can watch that trip (read-only) on their Home screen until the creator revokes it. A PDF booklet you export contains the trip's content and is yours to distribute.
5. Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. You can export your data and delete your account at any time from Profile in the app; deletion removes your profile, your trips, your photos and your tokens within 30 days, except transaction records we must keep for accounting (up to 6 years) and anonymised usage counts. You can also e-mail [email protected] from the address you signed in with.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including Chile's Law 19.628 / 21.719, the EU GDPR and the UK GDPR) you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to it, and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise them.
7. Children
CubicTrip is for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if we learn we have, we delete the account.
8. Security
Data travels encrypted (TLS) and is stored encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited to the people who operate the app. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
9. Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes are announced in the app.
